A Powerhouse System exemplifies innovation and engineering. The angle of the mono pitch roof is optimized for maximum solar electric production at your location. The roof area of the Powerhouse 1000 accommodates 8 Kyocera KC 130 solar panels. The frame is a single unit which stabilizes the structure and maximizes the strength of the unit to carry the heavy deep cycle batteries. The floor mounted vent and 120 volt gable fan are matched to provide efficient cooling and ventilation. A front mounted 7 Kw propane generator starts automatically when the batteries are low if there is no sun to recharge. |

Powerhouse 2000 incorporates all the heavy duty construction and design engineering of the Powerhouse 1000, plus the roof area accommodates twice the solar collecting capacity. This unit can be used to run central air conditioning when equipped with a larger sized generator. |

We offer two more excellent choices if you are already tied to the electrical grid. The inter-tie system both reduces your electric bill, and allows you to sell electricity back to the electric company.
The Combi adds batteries to the inter-tie system and you have the security of having electricity during a power outage. |

Our first alternative for the grid tied dwelling is the IES inter-tie system. We combine the Powerhouse 1000 or 2000 with the Xantrex 2500 STX Suntie inverter. The energy of the sun is collected through the solar panels. The Suntie inverter changes the electric current to exactly match the electricity of the power lines and uses this electricity instead of that from the power company. Your meter will actually slow down or turn backwards if you make more power than you use. On days that are not sunny, you will use the power from the grid just as you always did before the installation of this system. The Inter-tie system does not provide back up power!
If you want back up power integrated into your inter-tie system, we simply add batteries and another inverter. The batteries provide storage for the electricity and the inverter allows you to run those circuits necessary to maintain your household essentials during a power outage.
