The photovoltaic method: to generate the electricity from the solar energy
Renewable energy can be generated out of the diverse natural resources such as; sunlight, wind, tides, rain and geothermal heat. These are the sources which can replace the use of fossil fuels and give us the energy without hurling the toxic gases in the environment.
Sunlight, basically, is the total spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation given off by the Sun. By using the solar thermal power the solar energy can be harnessed to heat. Solar energy is the energy of light and heat, coming out of the sun. The solar energy technologies utilize the sun’s heat which can be used for lightning, heating and electricity. The sunlight can be transferred into the electricity with the photovoltaic which converts light directly in to the electricity.
Photovoltaic is best known as a method for generating solar power by using solar cells packaged in photovoltaic modules, often electrically connected in multiples as solar photovoltaic arrays, to convert energy from the sun into electricity. Solar cells can generate direct current electricity from light, which can be used to power equipment or to recharge a battery.
The main benefit of this is that the solar power is pollution free during use and the production end wastes and emissions are manageable. Though the initial cost and expense of building a solar power plant is not so low but the operating cost is too low. Whereas the biggest disadvantage is that, the solar electricity is not available at night and in foggy atmosphere and for that it is mandatory to develop a storage power system.
